土木における施工管理とは、道路、橋、トンネル、ダムといった公共インフラをはじめ、あらゆる土木構造物の工事が、計画通りに円滑に進むように管理する仕事です。
主な業務は「工程管理」「品質管理」「原価管理」「安全管理」の4つであり、これらを総称して「4大管理」と呼びます。

- 工程管理： 工事全体のスケジュールを管理し、計画通りに工事が完了するように調整します。進捗状況の確認、作業員の配置、資材の手配などを計画的に行います。
- 品質管理： 完成した構造物の品質が、設計図や仕様書で定められた基準を満たしているかを確認します。測量や検査、写真撮影などで記録を残し、品質を確保します。
- 原価管理： 工事にかかる費用を管理し、予算内に収まるように調整します。資材の発注や協力会社との調整を行い、コストを管理します。
- 安全管理： 工事現場で事故や災害が発生しないよう、安全対策を徹底します。作業員の安全教育や安全設備の点検、危険箇所の確認などを実施します。
土木施工管理は、現場作業者とのコミュニケーションを取りながら、責任者として工事全体を円滑に進める、重要な役割を担います。
