Day 50
Today, we’re building a Jomon house.
This is a house, after all.
Assembled using wooden sticks.
I wonder how many people lived in such a small space.
Three?
A simple house where you could just lie down.
They could start a fire and cook here.
It seems like they could do everything in the living room.
The house I lived in as a child was also a little bigger.
A little
My house was small when I was a kid.
I don’t think many people experience poverty as children.
I could talk about that story forever.
It’s an asset.
When I was in elementary school, I wanted to play baseball, but I couldn’t because it cost money.
I joined a mini-basketball team, but I never went, and ended up having to rely on my dad to pay for it.
Everyone starts playing baseball in the fourth grade, so I wasted a year.
Slam Dunk I didn’t join because I admired the people around me or anything.
There were people who were better than me, so just being allowed to play baseball was enough for me.
But…
If my child wants to do something, I want to be the kind of parent who can let them do it.
When I was in Tokyo, my kids went to high schools outside of my prefecture and to college in the US.
I had kids who went to sports outside of my prefecture and wondered how their parents were funding it.
They’re so blessed.
I can understand moving from Tokyo to the countryside, but the US…
The yen is so weak.
I bet on my kids so much.
But I’m off topic.
Jomon period dwellings were “pit dwellings.” They were built by digging a hole about 50 centimeters deep into the ground and erecting four to six pillars. The pit dwellings were either square or round, depending on the time and location. A hearth was built in the center of the pit dwelling.
I see.
I guess he uses the toilet outside whenever he wants.
The Jomon style of house-building is something you can only experience in this region.
I guess that’s an asset.
I wonder if I gained experience points.
I wonder if I leveled up like a Pokémon.
What’s this? There’s a Pikachu bottom too.
The end.
Bye.
