Major General Contractors (Super General Contractors)
In Japan, the following five companies are known as “super general contractors”: Kajima Corporation, Obayashi Corporation, Shimizu Corporation, Taisei Corporation, and Takenaka Corporation.
As for super general contractors, I was dispatched to Kajima Corporation, Shimizu Corporation, and Taisei Corporation, but
Shimizu Corporation was by far the best. They were a good fit, with a sports-oriented culture. They were very aggressive.
I didn’t really understand Kajima Corporation because it was a plant, but I think they did a good job.
I got the impression that Taisei Corporation wasn’t very good at construction. They’re a major company, so I think the salary is good, though.
I also had a chance to work for Takenaka Corporation, but I couldn’t go when they became NIPPO.
I was also planning to work for Obayashi Corporation three years ago, but I turned it down because I wanted to work on new construction projects.
Personally, Shimizu Corporation was the best. The craftsmen were like thugs, which made a good impression on me. They were straightforward and didn’t do anything creepy, so they were easy to understand.
The work was also very hands-on, and I always think that being given a job means learning the job, so it was great.
I recommend Shimizu Corporation!
However, I thought there were a lot of tough construction projects. I would like to join if I could.
The old man at NIPPO was annoying. He suddenly came to work in the morning and asked me to submit my resume, and I said I told him at the first interview, and he said he didn’t hear me, so we got into an argument and haven’t spoken much since.
If you underestimate him even once, he’ll get cocky, so you should tell him from the beginning. Plus, the dispatch location was different.
Then the conversation got a little weird. He said he got into a fight with a craftsman he didn’t know, and that was the end of it.
That’s where they should change the subject. Apparently another employee who joined mid-career also quit because the story was different.
Anyway, Shimizu Corporation was great.
That’s all.
Bye
